JAMES WALLENSTEIN
Mr. Wallenstein's practice focuses on commercial real estate including purchase and sales, financings and restructuring, leasing, development, partnership, and joint venture transactions for real estate developers, lenders, and tenants.
During law school, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the SMU Law Review. Upon graduation, he worked as a law clerk for Hon. Irving L. Goldberg of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Wallenstein also served as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University School of Law (1978-1991) covering Commercial Real Estate Transactions.
Mr. Wallenstein has been named as one of the "Best Lawyers in Dallas" under the category of real estate specialty, in all issues of the survey that have been published to date by D Magazine. He has been named as one of the "Top Real Estate Lawyers in Texas" in all issues of the survey that have been published to date by Texas Monthly. In the October 2002 edition of Texas Lawyer Mr. Wallenstein was named as the real estate lawyer most often selected by other Texas real estate lawyers to represent them in a complex real estate transaction and was a recipient of the Distinguished Texas Real Estate Lawyer Lifetime Achievement Award, Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas in 2001.
